Angelina Jolie's Goodwill Adventure Thu, 23-Jul-2009 Angelina Jolie has been spending time at the UNs Refugee Agency where she was able to tour the camp on the outskirts of Baghdad and took time to meet four families displaced because of the violence in their country.
Jolie who has her own family of six, was extremely heartfelt with a family of nine whose newborn was being rocked while covered in a rash.
Jolie asked if they wanted to go back to their former home district. No way, a daughter-in-law told. Our neighbors returned and their three daughters were killed. Why is this happening to us?
Jolie, who vowed to return to Iraq said, They are right to feel that it is not fair. She told the family, I want to come back and find you in a better place and in a different situation. You need help not because you are poor, but because you are the future of Iraq.
Continuing about Iraq she says, The picture in this camp is a rough one but there are also some people that were able to return home to other safer areas. There are some changes. There are returns of displaced people, not a big number but there in progress. This is a moment where things seem to be improving on the ground, but Irquis need a lot of support and help to rebuild their lives.
