Hathaway, DiCaprio Among Palm Springs Film Winners Wed, 7-Jan-2009 With the awards show season getting into full swing, the stars were out last night for the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala in Palm Springs, California.
Held at the Palm Springs Convention Center, attendees included leading ladies Anne Hathaway, Amy Adams and Dakota Fanning, along with their male counterparts Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn and Clint Eastwood.
During the night's festivities, DiCaprio accepted the Ensemble Performance Award for his performance in the drama "Revolutionary Road," for which he's also up for a Golden Globe this Sunday.
Other honorees included Miss Hathaway, who grabbed up the Desert Palm Achievement Award for her work in "Rachel Getting Married" while Gran Torino" star Clint Eastwood was presented with the Career Achievement Award.
Talking with press following the show, Leonardo said, "I'm just doing what I know how to do, and that's make movies and hopefully get people to go see them so I can continue to make more movies," said actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
Meanwhile, when asked whether or not she's ready for eight straight weeks of fancy awards ceremonies, Miss Hathaway replied, "I've decided to keep a journal about it, and write down my reflections every night. Because I know that if I don't do that now, when I look back, I won't be able to remember things so clearly. So I think that's what I'm going to do." |
