Brad Pitt: Still Hoping for “Moneyball” Fri, 10-Jul-2009 Everyone was in shock last month when Sony Pictures decided to end the $50 million movie starring Brad Pitt, "Moneyball".
It was pulled just days before the scheduled shooting, but now the movie may be back on.
Writer and creator Aaron Sorkin will be doing a quick re-write of the script, as Sony believed it was too arty and documentary.
Sony also is hoping to add Oscar-winning producer Scott Rudin to the team to try and polish up the movie. The script was originally by Ocean's series director Steven Soderbergh and screen writer Steven Zaillian.
The movie was based on Michael Lewis's nonfiction book of the Oakland Athletics and their general manager Billy Beane, who put together a star Major League team, even with no money in the bank. |
