Drew Barrymore Draws On Troubled Past for New Role Mon, 9-Mar-2009 Finished up with a short trip to New York City, Drew Barrymore was spotted making her way through the terminal as she departed JFK Airport last night (March 8).
With the help of airport security, the former "ET" star did her best to hide from photographers as she quickly passed through security and boarded her LAX-bound flight.
Meanwhile, Barrymore, 34, recently spoke with W magazine about her job of playing "Little Edie" Beal in HBO's upcoming series "Grey Gardens," which begins airing in April.
"I was excited to bring my own pain to something," Drew tells. "I mean, contrary to my happy-go-luckiness, I have so much darkness in there."
Talking about how she used her past to help guide her with the role, Barrymore adds, "I got institutionalized as a kid, and I felt like I was back there. A lot of times I found myself unhappy and isolated, and the only other time I felt that way was when I was in there." |
