Drew Barrymore Stops By “Live with Regis and Kelly” Mon, 13-Apr-2009 She has been busy promoting her new movie "Grey Gardens," and earlier today (April 13) Drew Barrymore was spotted dropping by "Live with Regis and Kelly" for an interview.
The "He's Just Not that Into You" actress looked absolutely stunning as she arrived at the Manhattan studio, sporting a black and white sleeveless dress with red peep-toe heels.
In the movie, Drew plays Edie Beale, the daughter of a member of the Kennedy family who, with her mother, lives for decades in a cat-and-flea-infested rundown mansion in the Hamptons.
Of her preparation for the role, Barrymore told press, "I started voice coaching a year before we started and did almost a full year of five-day-a-week sessions with [vocal coach] Liz Himmelstein. Even if she was doing other movies, we just worked other around each other's schedules because I didn't want to miss even a week of work. I mean, I sound like a valley girl from L.A., and Edie Beale has the most intensely definable, yet indefinable, voice."
She continued, "You just can't believe the range in her voice -- it goes from little girl to angry. It also has Southern, New York, East Coast, Connecticut, East Hamptons, Bostonian, even English inflections. Plus, our facial expressions are so different. The area of her mouth that she speaks out of is different from mine, and her nose, mouth and lips are all different from mine as well. So I had to retrain my face for the role -- a process that was helped by great fake teeth that I would wear during our sessions." |
