Tarun Tahiliani is on fire! India's most sought after and successful fashion designer dazzled Mumbai with the debut of his Spring/Summer 2009 collection. Tahiliani's refined designs are the epitome of style, craftsmanship, and quality. Tahiliani is widely credited with bringing couture fashion to India. For Lakme Fashion Week, Tahiliani combined forces with Levi's to create the ultimate decked out denim.
The collection is largely focused on today's woman and its goal is to change her perspective of denim. "Indian women all over the world love to wear color and jewels while going out for a night out, club, or dinner. You can have all of these options, not just another boring pair of jeans. We have created different kinds of versions to go with our skin and added serious glamour. That is what the whole collection is about," said Tahiliani.
Tahiliani's revolutionary denim designs rocked the chandelier adorned runway. One of Bollywood's hottest stars, Sonam Kapoor, modeled Tahiliani's Levi's. Kapoor stole the show in a head to toe white denim ensemble reminiscent of rock star wedding attire. Jewel chained bralets and denim corsets were paired with coated asparette jeans, denim hot pants, jackets, and pencil skirts. Each item was incredibly unique and hand crafted. Tahiliani embellished his creations with Swarovski crystals, beaded fringe, silver sequins, and gold chains.
Tahiliani's glamorous designs are his own personal attempt to rejuvenate ideas towards a renewal for contemporary Indian life. A job well done! |
