Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Hit Capitol Hill Wed, 16-Sep-2009
Spending the day in the nation's capital, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony paid a visit to Capitol Hill for a private audience with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday (September 16).
The happy couple made the trip on Marc's 41st birthday for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Gala, where Marc will be honored with President and First Lady Obama in attendance.
As for the visit to the Speaker’s balcony, J Lo and Marc helped to promote Hispanic Heritage Month, as well as education initiatives for Latino children.
Press reports tell that Miss Pelosi said the appearance by the stars was “thrilling because they are so loved by the young people in America.”
The Speaker added, “We are pleased that the came the same day that in the House we are debating a bill on higher education.” |
