Jessica Biel's Tough Climb Tue, 12-Jan-2010
Jessica Biel is always ready for a challenge, but the actress is facing extreme conditions while climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
The 27-year-old and Emile Hirsch are trying their best to stay warm as they go up the huge 19,340 foot climb to raise awareness for clean water worldwide.
“It’s pretty gnarly,” said United Nations Foundation executive Elizabeth Gore. “The visibility is only 10 feet in front of you. And it’s cold. I’ve got six layers on.”
Adding, she says, “Jess is doing awesome. She continues to bring levity yet seriousness at the same time.”
The group finds ways to take their mind off the cold. “We’ve played every game you can imagine — travel Scrabble, word games. And there is a lot of free-style rapping going on,” Elizabeth added.
Also in the climbing lineup are Lupe Fiasco, Isabel Lucas, and Jacques Cousteau’s granddaughter Alexandra. |
