Katherine Heigl: Hoping to Stay on “Grey's Anatomy” Wed, 1-Apr-2009 While there have been rumors floating around that she's been looking to skip out on "Grey's Anatomy," it seems Katherine Heigl wants to stay after all.
According to a report, the "27 Dresses" cutie has been pleading with the show's producers not to kill off her character Dr. Izzie Stevens. This comes after she had hinted at wanting to pursue film rather than stay on television.
An inside source revealed to press, "With the economy tanking and a key role in a huge TV hit, Katherine's not ready to quit her day job."
"Now she's groveling with the producers, trying to convince them not to kill off her character. She'd like a few more lucrative seasons on Grey's while she continues to build a reputation in the film world."
And the show's producers are exploring their options. "The producers are messing with Katherine now. They won't give her a concrete answer. She's learned …just how cutthroat this industry can be."
A frustrated Heigl recently told press, "I was assuming that [Izzie would die] at one point, and I got a lot of shrugged shoulders and shakes of the head, so I don't know if that's a yes or a no. No one will tell me and I don't know how this is going to go." |
