Kelly Clarkson: I'm Straight Wed, 4-Feb-2009
As she focuses on the upcoming release of her fourth studio album, Kelly Clarkson says she’s happy being single. And though there have been rumors that she’s gay, the “Since You’ve Been Gone” songstress says nothing could be farther from the truth.
In an attempt to set the record straight, she told press, “I get that all the time. People are like, ‘Are you secretly a lesbian? Because I'd really love it.’”
Clarkson continued, “Lesbians tell it to me all the time. I'm like, 'I'm glad it works for you, and I wish I liked women like that because often times, men are very hard for me, but I happen to like boys.’”
Kelly says she "could never be a lesbian. I would never want to date [someone like] myself, ever. I'm a crazy person. I need some kind of stable, quiet man."
And though she’s not gay herself, Kelly loves all of her fans, regardless of the externals. "I don't really care if you're black, white, yellow, gay, straight, crazy, whatever. As long as you're cool and you like the music, and you're coming out to have a good time at the shows, I don't really care." |
