More Sex Scandal Drama at Oprah Winfrey's School Tue, 31-Mar-2009 For the second time in as many years, Oprah Winfrey's South African all-female boarding school has been hit with a student sex scandal.
According to a report, a total of seven girls were suspended last week on charges that they sexually harassed their fellow schoolmates.
The report also said that several of the girls have been regularly "intimidating others into partaking of inappropriate behaviors,” and one 15-year-old tried to get her victims to lie to the school’s authorities about the incidents.
The school sent a letter to the student’s parents that read, "You have been found guilty of physical contact of a sexual nature with another pupil on campus, harassment, bullying other girls on campus and of being dishonest by not telling investigators the whole truth."
Back in 2008, a female worker at the school was accused of sexually abusing 15 students. At that time Oprah told press, "This has been one of the most devastating experiences, if not the most devastating experience, of my life. But like all such experiences there is much to be learned." |
