Sarah Jessica Parker: Home with the Babies Fri, 26-Jun-2009 In celebrity family news, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick left East Ohio Regional Hospital with their newborn twin daughters on Thursday. Hospital spokesperson Maggie Espina said, “Yes, they are gone.”
A maroon SUV and a white van left the hospital around 11AM, escorted by many police cars with New York license plates. A security guard at the hospital said, “The babies left in that white van.”
The hospital kept things very private during their stay and also kept their surrogate and new babies in tight security.
“It’s really private up there,” explained one employee. “They’ve been using the service elevator [to move around.].”
Security was extremely tight, even for other patients. In the maternity ward, the patients were kept in the dark. One woman whose daughter had her baby around the same time the couple’s surrogate did said, “Up on the floor everybody had to keep their doors shut. All the patients had to keep their doors shut.”
The hospital must have done a good job because, on Thursday, reporters and dozens of employees waited outside the hospital doors with cameras and cell phones to try and witness the new family and had no luck.
"Even the nurses are trying to get a glimpse" said one passerby who was visiting someone at the hospital. "The nurses are trying to get a peek, but even they can’t."
Added one local Martin Ferry, Ohio resident: "We've never had anything this Hollywood!"
Although they may have not been able to tell her in person, the construction workers nearby made a sign for the “Sex and the City” star that read, “Nice shoes Carrie, Congratulations!” |
