Whitney Houston Rocks the GMA Stage Tue, 1-Sep-2009
Out promoting her brand new album, Whitney Houston took the stage to perform live on Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series in New York City on Tuesday (September 1).
Joined by hosts Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts, the "I Wanna Dance with Somebody” singer belted out her new tunes to the large crowd gathered at Rumsey Playfield.
Of the new album, Jon Pareles of the New York Times wrote, “Seven years after her last album of pop songs, two years after her divorce, Whitney Houston re-emerges with full diva qualifications on ‘I Look to You,’ released Monday. Most of its revelations aren’t verbal; they’re in the husky, vehement sound of her voice."
And the Washington Post stated, “I Look to You is a finely calibrated, just-modern-enough mix of mom-friendly club bangers and dauntless ballads that, in retrospect, seems like the only album she could have made.” |
