Whitney Houston: Suing Stepmom Wed, 8-Apr-2009
In one of the more bizarre lawsuits to hit Hollywood in recent memory, Whitney Houston is suing her stepmother Barbara Houston for $1.6 million.
According to a report, the lawsuit stems back to the 2003 death of the “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” singer’s father, who left her a $1 million life insurance policy.
Barbara claimed that Whitney “improperly kept the proceeds from the policy,” and that she was entitled to the money in order to pay off her Fort Lee, New Jersey condo mortgage.
Unfortunately, Whitney (who holds the mortgage) never got the memo and is now suing Barbara for unpaid payments on the condo. All in all it’s just one big logistical nightmare. |
